Safety & respect on HerCall
HerCall is designed to encourage respectful and safer connections. This page explains our principles, your tools, and the safety reflexes we recommend.
Our safety approach
No platform can remove all risks. What we can do is set a clear framework, provide appropriate tools and encourage responsible behaviour.
Safety on HerCall is a matter of shared responsibility: the platform (tools, rules, moderation), the people hosting events, and every person who takes part in them.
Respect & consent
HerCall is built on respect and consent. Consent should be:
- Clear: expressed without ambiguity.
- Freely given: without pressure, blackmail or threats.
- Specific: for a given situation, not “for everything”.
- Reversible: anyone can change their mind at any time.
The absence of a “no” does not mean “yes”. A no, discomfort expressed, silence or withdrawal must always be respected immediately.
Expected behaviour on HerCall
What is expected
- Respecting other people’s boundaries and decisions (including a refusal or no answer).
- Using respectful, non-degrading language.
- Showing up on time for events and informing others in case of delay or cancellation.
- Following the rules written in the event description (location, format, dress code, etc.).
What is not allowed
- Harassment or repeated messages after a refusal or a block.
- Hate speech, discrimination, or threats.
- Pressure to obtain a meeting, pictures, or any form of intimacy that is not wanted.
- Sharing someone else’s private information (address, phone, workplace…) without consent.
- Using HerCall for any illegal activity.
Reporting, blocking & moderation
If someone’s behaviour makes you uncomfortable, seems to break our rules or appears dangerous, we encourage you to use the tools available.
- Blocking: to stop all contact with a given person.
- Reporting: to alert us about problematic content or behaviour.
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, which may, where appropriate, restrict or close accounts, and request additional information.
What happens after a report?
- Receipt: your report is logged and prioritised based on severity.
- Review: we look at the context (messages, media, account history) while respecting privacy.
- Action: depending on the case, we may warn, remove content, temporarily restrict, suspend or ban an account.
- Follow-up: we may ask for additional details (dates, screenshots, etc.).
Tip: keep your report factual and include timing. Avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive data (official documents, private contact details, etc.).
HerCall is not an emergency service. In case of immediate danger or direct threats, contact emergency services or the local police first.
Tips for your meetings
- Choose a public and busy place for first meetings.
- Tell a trusted person (friend, family) where you are going, at what time, and who you are meeting.
- Plan your own way home (public transport, taxi / ride-share, etc.).
- Do not leave drinks or personal belongings unattended.
- Leave the meeting if something feels wrong, even if “everything was planned”.
You never have to apologise for setting boundaries, saying no, or leaving an encounter that does not feel right for you.
